An adventure in the Shudder Mountains

Happy Groundhog Day to all of you groundhog watchers! Punxsutawney Phil, the world’s most famous whistlepig, saw his shadow this morning. That means we have six more weeks of winter coming, and I’ll be using that time to work on our upcoming adventure, Whistlepig Breakdown! (and squeeze in a little gaming where I can).

As of today, the writing and layout is complete. Our cover artist, Rebecca Lefkowitz (who also did the covers for O, Death! and Exhuming John Barleycorn) has completed the final cover art. The only major step before we go live is advancing the interior art.

As we said in our update last year, Whistlepig Breakdown is a fast-paced musical romp through the village of Hootin Holler, where you’ll meet a reclusive bootlegger, a ghost that plays the blues harp, and more than a few abominable woodchucks. It starts with roleplaying in the holler and ends in a good old dungeon crawl.

Look forward to an engaging Shudder Mountains tale with new monsters like the Wyrmchuck (a fire-breathing, dragon-winged woodchuck), terracytes (the earthen guardians at the Heart of the Mountain) and many more! We’ll also be throwing in new folk magic rites, magic items, and Old Songs, like the footstompin’, luck bringin’ tune, Whistlepig Breakdown!

Y’all be good!
